History of ANCCE

ANCCE was founded in 1972 with the aim of protecting breeders' interests. It has always been a national organisation and its main objectives are:

- to promote the image of the Pura Raza Española / Purebred Spanish Horse (PRE),
- to update members and general public with news and activities concerning ANCCE § to organise conformation contests all over Spain.

ANCCE also performs another extremely important task: managing the StudBook of Spanish studs. This work is carried out in collaboration with and under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, as the Ministry effectively owns the Book.

Associates of ANCCE originate not only from Spain but also from all over the world. Germany, Mexico, USA and Venezuela etc have all joined ANCCE as well as other regional, national and international associations, thus representing 80% of PRE horses worldwide. ANCCE is regarded within the equestrian world as an extremely important association with a high number of affiliates in Spain and with a long and great tradition. Furthermore, ANCCE represents the equestrian sector within COPA (the Committee of Prodessional Agricultural Organisations) which is based in Brussels and also works closely with the CEOE (Spanish Confederation of Business Organisations).
