2003 CHIO Aachen

Starting Shot for the FEI World Equestrian Games Aachen 2006

The Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein e.V. (ALRV) is pleased to be able to give the official starting shot for the FEI World Equestrian Games Aachen 2006 on the occasion of the World Equestrian Fes-tival, CHIO Aachen from June 17th - 22nd, 2003.

In the course of the Opening Ceremony "Hungary- Naturally" on Tuesday, June 17th 2003 at 6.00 p.m. the visitors can look forward to a very special highlight. In the company of the German Minister of the Interior, Otto Schily, representatives of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) and the German National Equestrian Federation (NF) and the President of the ALRV, Klaus Pavel, the official logo for the FEI World Equestrian Games Aachen 2006 will be presented to the public for the first time.

The presentation will be incorporated in the spirited and fiery scenery of the CHIO's partner country Hungary. Approximately 280 participants and approximately 120 horses will turn the prelude of the World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen into a colourful celebration. From Hungarian horsebreeding, the traditional hussars over to the racy "Hungarian Post", a vivacious survey of Hungary's horse history will be presented to the audience.

The theme FEI World Equestrian Games Aachen 2006 will be present on the tournament grounds during the whole week. Interested visitors can gain information on the FEI World Equestrian Games Aachen 2006 in the officel tent, which will be annexed to the tent of the CHIO-ticket sale; fans can obtain first limited edition-presents at the merchandising booths.

"In the future we want to thematically integrate several aspects of the FEI World Equestrian Games Aachen 2006 into our CHIO-programme each year", stresses ALRV-President Klaus Pavel. Currently the basic planning is being made intensively and will be explicitly reconciled with the NF and the FEI in the next weeks. One thing which is presently certain is the fact that in 2006 a CHIO will also take place in Aachen, namely in the first half of the year, while the FEI World Equestrian Games Aachen 2006 will be scheduled for the second half!"
