Delightful Delta Departure

Linda Stallings and Mary PhelpsTuesday, May 27, In all the years have known Linda Stallings, and all the Delta flights I have traveled, we never crossed paths during her "other job", until now. Linda Stallings, of Stallings Ridge Farm, in Social Circle, Georgia is a well known trainer and rider who has creatively combined both her flight and dressage show schedule. Married for 18 years to her husband Fred who also works for Delta, the couple have owned their farm for 10 years. Linda often uses her layovers in Europe to horse shop, currently competing a young Hanoverian gelding, and in the process of importing his full sister.

This trip will combine business, and pleasure. We will be covering events, including Wiesbaden, The Oldenburg Premium Mare Show in Vechta, and CHIO Aachen, as we tour Europe visiting favorite places and people. The HorsesDaily talent scouts will keep their eyes pealed for talented prospects for HorseMarket. My Husband JJ. Hathaway and I are also dubbing this our 10th Anniversary tour. It was a special coincidence that Linda worked on our flight, as she was one of our few horsy friends who made the trip to Kentucky for our wedding, ten years ago, May 23rd.

Mary and Renie PhelpsI called her on our anniversary, to tell her we were headed for Amsterdam, only to discover she was working the actual flight we were on! We rendezvoused in Atlanta, with my Mom Renie. Thanks to Linda,we were moved to business class for a luxurious flight across the ocean.

Linda and I got a chance to catch up as she prepared the morning breakfast of omelets, and warmed croissants. She often takes advantage of her European travels to shop for horses, mostly Hanoverians. Linda is currently competing a young four year old, and importing his full sister soon

Arriving relaxed and ready to begin our travels, we waited for our luggage only to spot another familiar face, Lisette Milner who had returned to the airport to collect a missing bag. Lisette is in Germany for six months, to work with Lisa Wilcox and Ernst Hoyos.

Thank you Delta, and Linda along with the rest of the friendly flight crew who did a great job getting us there in style and comfort!
