2003 Festival of Champions Pam Weidel Battles Torrential Rain To Be USET 75-Mile Endurance Ride Champion Riding Mount Adams, a purebred Arabian she conditions, Pamela Weidel of New Jersey, was the first American across the finish line of the USET 75-Mile Endurance Champioship Ride to win the rain-plagued race. The Real Estate agent, who owns her own company, also got the best conditioned award for the gelding who finished in nine hours, 40 minutes and 31 seconds "We all did it safely," said Weidel, last year's reserve champion. "I was just so worried about the footing." Her student, Christina Rieksen of Holland, was aboard the first place horse, Samblet, who is also trained by Weidel. The pair finished in 9:38:13.
