Announced for the Arabian, Morgan, Western, and Open Show Horse English
Classes at the National Horse Show Indoor Championships
New York City, NY - September 3, 2003 - The National Horse Show Association of America (NHSAA) has announced additional officials for the National Horse Show Indoor Championships in Las Vegas, NV on November 19 to 23 at the Orleans Arena. "We're very excited to invite Arabians, Morgans, Western, and Open Show English Horses to the National Horse Show Indoor Championships," stated manager Bob Bell. "And, we are very pleased to offer these competitors a chance to show under some of the finest officials in their disciplines." Officiating in the Arabian division will be Larry Lewis of Tacoma, WA, R. Stanton Morey of Edmond, OK, and Mitch Sperte of Orange, VA. Among the past shows Lewis has judged is the 2001 Eastern Kansas Arabian Association Horse Show. Morey has officiated at the 2001 Region 13 Arabian Championships and the 2002 Region 6 Arabian Championship. Among Sperte's credits are the 2001 Region 2 Arabian Horse Show and the Ohio Buckeye Sweepstakes. Ann E. Slomkowski of Northville, MI, Kent Kramer of LaCanada, CA, and Larry Lewis will judge the Western classes. In 2002, Slomkowski judged the U.S. Saddle Seat World Cup Trials and the Citrus Cup, while Kramer officiated at the 2002 Santa Barbara National Horse Show. Morgan officials for the show include Richard Boule of Ocala, FL, James Lowry of Seymour, IL, and Ann E. Slomkowski. Earlier this year, Boule judged the Delmarva Summer Classic and the Vermont Spring Classic. In 2002, Lowry officiated at the Key Classic Benefit Morgan Horse Show and the Mid Atlantic Morgan Horse Show. Melinda Moore of Harrodsburg, KY will judge the Open Show Horse English Classes. Moore officiated at the Midwest Charity, Oklahoma Centennial, and Raleigh Spring Charity Horse Shows in 2001, while in 2002 she judged the ASHAV Horse Show. The NHSAA is managing three shows this year. Prior to the National Horse Show Indoor Championships, the Metropolitan National Horse Show will be held on October 29 to November 2 in New York City, NY. The final show of the three events organized in 2003 by the NHSAA is the National Horse Show Outdoor Championships in Wellington, FL from November 26 to 30. All three shows will be rated "AA" by the national federation. Started in 1883, this is the 120th year for the National Horse Show Association of America. The entry closing date for the National Horse Show Indoor Championships is Tuesday, September 23. Prize lists and qualification information about all three shows may be downloaded from the Internet at the NHSAA website, www.nhs.org. Tickets are now on sale for all three shows.
