2004 CDIO Aachen

American Leslie Morse Wins Intermediaire II

July 16, 2004

Leslie Morse and Kingston in the StadiumAmerican dressage rider Leslie Morse won the Intermediaire II at the CDI Aachen. With a score of 67.073%, Morse just barely topped the leader board as Swedish Tinne Vilhelmson followed her closely with a 67.042 score. Leslie Morse rode a very harmonious trot tour in which the traversal movements were ridden in balance and with much engagement. The piaffe and passage were strong, only the transition from piaffe to passage was a bit hesitant. The flying changes every single and two strides were nicely performed.

Tinne Vilhelmson's Just Mickey, a Dutch bred KWPN gelding by Michelangelo, rode a very elegant test in which the lightfooted piaffe-passage was a highlight. One flying change at X was late and the tempi's every single stride could have been more groundcovering. Nevertheless, Just Mickey showed a wonderful extended canter and was rightfully placed second, though two judges even put him in first place.

Following in third position was the Swiss Christian Pläge and his Danish warmblood gelding Regent. Plage scored 66.146% and left Martina Hannover-Sternberg on Ratina H OLD behind him.
