The Photos Tell the Story

I took my lead from the other photographers for getting the photos of the jockeys and trainers. Knowing where to stand is key and finding your own spot wasn’t that easy. But I squeezed myself between some poles and was able to capture the entire field as they broke out of the gate. You could clearly see Pinpoint take the early lead with Afleet in the field, patiently waiting to make his move.

As the horses galloped around the track and the positions were put up on the scoreboard illuminated by an action shot of the field, the roar of the crowd was deafening. And when Afleet Alex took over the lead down the final stretch a cheer rang out that surely was heard for miles. And as he crossed the finish line there were a lot of us who were thinking about one very special girl hoping that she was able to see her namesake show just what a great horse he is.

It’s because of lemonade, friends and family and owners like Cash Is King Stable (who own Afleet) that there may be hope and cure one day for other little girls just like Alex.
