Show Jumping Team USA Wins the Bronze Medal

Coming in after strong performances from our Dressage and Eventing Teams, the Show Jumpers were determined to make it three in a row. Lauren Hough aboard Casadora, Laura Chapot on Little Big Man, Cara Raether riding Ublesco and Todd Minikus on Pavarotti were ready to give it their all. While the U.S. had put together a strong team so had Canada, Mexico and Brazil and so it was tough.

Added to that, were the difficulties that Little Big Man had to overcome with an impaction and the fact that Todd’s horse is still a little bit green. Laura, Lauren and Cara didn’t do too badly in the arena, but Laura’s horse certainly had a tough few days, which left him a bit tired.

Todd’s Pavarotti had the most difficulty in the arena and although it may have been a bit discouraging for Todd he also recognized that his horse still has a lot to learn and needs more mileage. After Pavarotti had a refusal in the first round at the very first fence and then a fall at the water in the first round of the team competition, it was amazing that this team pulled through with a Bronze Medal.
