Daily Equestrian Olympic News Courtney King and Harmony's Mythilus Start Things Off Just Right Despite The Odds Behind the scenes here in Hong Kong Courtney’s had her share of problems. She wasn’t feeling well for a day or two and neither was 14-year-old Mythilus. Matter-of-fact, she was thrown off her training schedule because Mythilus had to be given some time off. Because of that Courtney was careful in the Grand Prix test not to go for broke. She put in a picture perfect round but did not throw all caution to the wind. In the end her score of 70.456 was just what the team needed to start them off. She rode on the first day (Wednesday) while Steffen and Debbie took centerstage on Thursday. After her test Courtney commented, “I am happy with my score. I have no complaints about my first Olympics. We want to win because we do our best, not because other people do badly.” Courtney talked about Mythilus and explained that a few days after they arrived he was a bit lethargic. “I am paranoid about the health of my horses. There was just a little loss of time in preparing him, but he put in a stellar test.” |
