They Said It Couldn't Be Done
At the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta they won again and then here in Sydney they did it again. Back in '88 everybody said it couldn't be done, but not Robert Dover. He believed in the U.S. structure. He believed in a plan that involved getting our riders over to Europe and he believed in our riders. More importantly he got the riders to believe in themselves. This time around we added a new dimension to those achievements of the past. Two of our riders made it into Saturday's (Sept. 30) Musical Freestyle ride which decides the final Individual medal winners. Both Christine Traurig and Susan Blinks did what everyone said couldn't be done. They showed the world that the U.S. dressage riders are ones to contend with and everyone better watch out, because we're not stopping here.
