Suzanne’s Newest Star – And He’s Not a Chestnut!

Up to this point Suzanne has had extreme success with chestnuts, but she’s found room in her heart for another color. Her new bay (with lots of chrome) is a seven-year-old Rhinelander by Rubioso N x Argwohn. He took second place in the six-year-old division at one of the qualifiers for the German Bundchampionats in 2006 and was reserve Champion at his 30 - Day stallion test.

Named for “spiritual leader” in Polynesian, “R Kahuna” is a little guy with big gaits. Although he was a stallion, Suzanne decided to have him gelded. However, semen was collected for future breedings. Friend and trainer, Juergen Hofler found him for Suzanne, and she is grateful for his connections and expertise, as he knows what she likes. He also helped her find Cooper. Suzanne likes the idea that her new horse came from a breeder in a small barn where he received lots of TLC.

“When it comes to making a final decision in buying a horse, I listen to my heart, go with my gut feelings. I don’t allow anyone else to take part in this part of the process.”

Unfortunately, the arrival of Suzanne’s new horse from Germany was delayed because of the EHV breakout in Florida in December of 2006. Instead of debuting him in January of 2007 at the Ocala Dressage Show and then heading on to Wellington for the CDI (both were also cancelled due to the EHV breakout), he will have his coming out party later in the season.
