A Respected Judge

Natalie Lamping has judged most of the major Olympic and Pan American Games selection trials for the USET Dressage Team, and has been a long time figure at such important competitions as The NAYRC, Palm Beach Dressage Derby, and Dressage at Devon. An FEI I judge for the past 15 years, Lamping is also a licensed USAEq Senior judge, as well as a CEF S Judge. Her judging schedule keeps her travelling acroos the country throughout the year, but she still manages to continue to develop her horses as well.

Lamping has a number of horses in training too, in addition to her busy judging and clinic schedule. She has developed more than one horse to the Grand Prix level, including Charisma, Amon Ra and Deaandro. Currently she is bringing along an eight-year-old gray KWPN gelding, (Wanroij x Hopscoth/Volkmar), though she says he's not progressing as quickly as she would like because she does so much traveling for judging. "It's a matter of spending time with him," she said.

Her goal of course is to get him to Grand Prix. She bought him from the DG Bar Ranch in California when he was unbroken. He was the leading two-year-old in the country and was in the top ten as a four-year-old; last year he competed at second level with good scores in the high 60's and 70's and was the Reserve champion for IDCTA and won the USDF Reserve Champion for Dutch horses, the Vintage Cup.
