Ruth Hogan-Poulsen

Earning USDF Gold

USDF rewarded Ruth’s commitment to her training program with both the USDF Gold Medal and Freestyle Gold Bar in late 2003. These awards recognize Ruth’s success at the highest levels of FEI and FEI Freestyle dressage competition. Purchasing her 17h Hannoverian gelding Armando from  Leslie Lake in April 2003, Hogan-Poulsen earned her final Grand Prix scores during that summer. Hogan-Poulsen earned previous FEI scores on Mastermind, Soule Believer, and Mon Cheri.

Armando has since been retired from the Grand Prix show ring. Armando continues to perform in occasional exhibitions in New England and competes through Fourth Level with Ruth’s mother, Jeanette.

Sue Michalek ' s Mon Cheri and Hogan-Poulsen also earned the 2003 Region 8 Prix St. Georges Championship, as well as placing in the top 20 nationally during the 2004 USET “Small Tour” Selection Competitions. Mon Cheri was sold to Barbara Bonk of Silver Hill Equestrian Center in Dover , Delaware in 2004.
